Welcome To Amen 2012!

As well all know, there are many predictions that have been made concerning the year 2012, especially December 21, 2012. This is the date that the Mayan Calendar ends. There have been predictions of everything from apocalyptic happenings such as earthquakes all over the world, and either the end of the world, OR the end of the world as we know it.

There are predictions by so-called psychics that think there is going to be a great awakening. These new age believers are deceived by satan. They think they are worshipping the "light", when they are truly worshipping the "dark". The dark being the devil himself.

We are in the end times, folks, but none of us know the day that Jesus will come back.

The Bible tells us "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36).

Please do not let a prediction with a particular date scare you. If there is an exact date, then you know that it is not true. How do we know? God told us in His Holy Word (the Bible).

Don't be fooled by these astrologers, psychics, and others who are into these "New Age" religions who claim to know what will happen in 2012. They do not know anything that the rest of us don't know. In fact they are missing the Truth as told to us by Jesus Christ.

There have been many failed predictions in the past. Remember Y2K? Everyone was worried sick that the world as we knew it was going to fail because the computers were not ready to go into the new millenium, they felt computers were not programmed to go past December 31, 1999. We all held out breath and thank the Lord, nothing happened, it was just another day.

Let's take a lesson here from Y2K. Not everyone, but many people worried themselves half to death over something that never came to pass.

The Bible tells us not to trust in or believe in astrology. God tells us we are to turn to Him and renounce the occult. Many people, including many Christians, think it is harmless to look at astrological charts or check their horoscopes. They think it is fun or entertaining. Other people look to astrology, divination, and psychics or spirit guides for actual guidance, not just entertainment. But God clearly warns against such practices in many Bible verses.

Some reasons the Scriptures warn against engaging in any form of the occult:

• We open ourselves up to evil spirits that are NOT of God
• We turn away from true faith in Jesus
• We disobey God's Word (the Bible)
• We are looking to the occult and demons for guidance instead of looking to God

Here are some Scriptures against astrology:

Daniel 1:20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.

Isaiah 47:13-15 All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm anyone; here is no fire to sit by. That is all they can do for you—these you have labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them goes on in his error; there is not one that can save you.

Here are some Bible verses that warn us to stay away from sorcery or mediums, or spiritists.

Leviticus 20:6 I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people.

Leviticus 19:31 Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

Isaiah 8:19 When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so.

1 Samuel 28:3-25 He expelled mediums and spiritists from the land, yet then violated God’s word and his own conscience by consulting a medium. 1 Samuel 31:1-6 His end was tragic.

Deuteronomy 4:19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

We do need to be spiritually ready because Jesus may come back in a second from now, a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year, or a decade, but it will be soon. I know it will not be on December 21, 2012 because the Bible tells us we will not know the day or hour, so since there is a frenzy with people thinking the end of the world is in 2012, it most likely will not be the time the Lord comes back.

Since we do not know the hour of our Lord, we must be ready. Too many people think it is ok to wait to become a saved born again Christian when they are old and have had all the "fun" they want to. But folks, we do not know when OUR time will come. We could be hit by a car, have a sudden heart attack with no warning.

Let me ask you this, do you know for a fact that if you died today you would go to Heaven?

Have you asked Jesus to forgive you of all your sins, believed that He died on the cross for your sins and arose again 3 days later? Did you repent of your sins? Did you attend a church so that you may fellowship with other believers? Did you read your Bible and pray faithfully so that you may grow closer with our Lord? These are all things we must do to maintain our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Now, am I saying that we as Christians are perfect? Of course not, there is none that has ever walked this earth that was perfect except for Jesus. We human beings are imperfect and I for one, make mistakes daily that I must ask God to forgive, but the point is we TRY not to do these things.

Remember, God knows our every thought, we cannot act outwardly as though we are Christians and inwardly or behind the scenes do evil. If you do that, you are not a true born again Christian and you will not be rewarded by admission to Heaven.

Folks, be ready to meet Jesus soon, but don't waste your time worrying about man made predictions and events. Things will happen as they are supposed to according to God's Will.
